Business English Mastery 12-Week System — Complete User Guide
Everything the app can do, step by step, with screenshots and real examples: guided daily sessions, the Shadowing Studio, AI-style speaking feedback, vocabulary building and progress tracking — all private, all on your device.
1Getting started & onboarding
The app is a complete 12-week training program for professional spoken English: 6 days a week, 25 focused minutes a day, with instant feedback on every recording. Everything is saved automatically on your device.
Open the app in Chrome or Edge (best) — https://app.lomonec.com/. On Android, use the browser menu → Add to Home Screen to install it like a real app (it works offline).
Complete the 60-second welcome: your name → what you do → your #1 goal → your daily practice slot → say one sentence aloud for your baseline score. The whole app personalizes itself around your answers.
Allow microphone access when asked — the recorder and speaking feedback need it.
You land in the 🎯 Shadow tab — pick a starter video and do your first 30-second sprint. That's day 1 done.
The welcome flow: 5 quick steps, ending with your first speaking score.
💡 The golden rule: every session must produce evidence — a recording, a transcript, saved words, or correction notes. If you didn't record or write anything, it wasn't a real session.
2🧱 Foundations — start here if English feels fast
The first time you open Home, the app plays three sentences and asks whether you understood each one. Answer honestly — it only decides where you begin. Three yeses opens the full programme. Anything less starts Foundations.
Three sentences a day, for fifteen days. Each shows the English in large text, with a translation underneath in your app language.
Tap Hear, then Slow. Read the translation. Say the sentence out loud, then tap Record and say it again.
Record all three and the day is done. Online, you also get a score for every word. Offline, the recording alone counts — the score is feedback, not a condition.
From day 6 you hear a question first — the supervisor or your manager asking something — and you say the short answer.
Day 15 opens everything: the workplace conversations and the interview coaches. Until then they show Foundations first, with the one-minute check always one tap away if you think you are ready.
💡 Why the gate? The conversations use English at normal speed. Fifteen days of saying the basic sentences first is what makes them possible — nobody is put in front of English they cannot yet follow.

📘 Manual
This guide
On your phone, the app switches to a bottom icon bar — like any Android app: Home · Road map · Shadow · Phrases · Progress · ⋯ More (Account, Manual, About).
Phone view: bottom navigation, everything one tap away.
4Dashboard
Zero decisions: the Dashboard greets you by name, shows your goal and daily slot, and tells you exactly what today's session is.
Today's session card, the progress ring across 3 phases, and your key stats.
Read the "Continue where you left off" card and click Start today's 25-minute session →.
The ring shows your % of 84 sessions across the three phases: Foundation (W1–4) → Workplace Fluency (W5–8) → Executive Communication (W9–12).
5🗺️ Road map — the 12-week journey
The whole programme on one winding road, like a game map. Behind you the road is lit in colour with a ✓ on every stage you finished; the stage you are on pulses with a You are here tag; the one after it is marked Next; everything further ahead is grey until you reach it.
The header shows your % complete, how many of the 84 sessions are done, where you are and what comes next. Take me to where I am scrolls straight to your pin.
Stage 0 is Foundations (see section 2). Then come the 12 weeks — on a professional track they are called stages — grouped by phase; you enter each phase through a road sign that carries its name and count.
Review checkpoints sit after weeks 4, 8 and 12, and the road ends at your certificate, which unlocks when all 84 sessions are done.
Tap any pin to open that week; the week cards under the map show the seven days and let you open a session.
You can open the map from any screen with the small map button in the top bar. And when you finish a session or a Foundations day, a short progress strip slides up showing your new pin lighting up — tap it for the full map.
Under the map: each card is a week; the 7 dots are its days. Click a week, then a day, to open a session.

6A daily 25-minute session
One page holds your whole workout: timer, minute-by-minute template, recorder with live transcription, your script, notes and self-score.
A session page: template steps (left), recorder + "My example" + feedback tools (right).
Press ▶ Start on the 25-minute timer and follow the timed template steps, ticking each one off.
Complete "🎬 My example — what I plan to say" — the box now opens pre-filled with a starter for that exact day. On Tuesdays, for example, it lays out the labelled prompts Current role: · Core responsibilities: · Previous experience: · Current focus:; other days seed it with the week's phrases. Finish the sentences in your own words — this is the target your recording is scored against. (On shadowing and phrase days the box starts collapsed — tap it open if you want to jot a script.)
Press 🎙️ and speak. While you record, the app transcribes you. Aim for 20–60 seconds of real speech — one-second clips can't be analyzed.
Stop → the full feedback report appears (see Section 7): word-by-word score, grammar, vocabulary, pace. Your words also fill "🎙️ My transcript" automatically.
Record a second take — the 📈 waveform shows your new voice layered over the previous one, with a pacing verdict like "4.5s tighter — more confident pacing 📈".
Write your top corrections in notes, self-score 1–10, and ✅ Mark session complete.
Two tabs: the plan and the doing
The session splits in two, with the timer and this week’s phrases visible above both. 25-minute template is the timed checklist you follow; Practise & record holds your example, the recorder, your transcript, notes and self-score. Switching between them never disturbs a running timer or a recording in progress.
Each day sends you to the right place
The session knows what kind of day it is and points you straight to where the real work happens — with a glowing button under the goal line:

You speak right here — the "My example" box is open and ready
When a button sends you to another tab, a "← Back to your session" pill appears at the top of that tab — one tap returns you to the exact day you came from.
📌 Example — Week 1 Tuesday, "Tell me about yourself"
My example:
"I currently work as a data engineer. My focus is on the reporting pipeline. I'm responsible for data quality."
You record it, and the report shows: 95% — one yellow word (responsible), a grammar catch ("I am agree" → "I agree"), pace 132 wpm ✅. You drill the yellow word with 🔊/🎤, record take 2, and the attempt line reads 82% → 95% 📈.
7🎯 Shadowing Studio — the practice lab
Shadowing = speaking along with a native speaker to copy their rhythm, stress and melody. The Studio makes it effortless: pick a clip from the built-in library (transcript included) or paste any YouTube link, mark a 20–30 second segment, and loop it while you shadow.
The Studio: the caption-backed clip library, channels, the player with clip controls, recorder + feedback, saved clips, trouble words and vocabulary.
Cut and loop a clip
Pick a video: choose a clip from the 🎬 library below (Jobs, MLK, Michelle Obama, TED talks and many more — each shows a “Captions ready” badge), or paste any YouTube link → ▶ Load video.
Play, then ⬇ Mark start. A live counter appears and counts the seconds — at 20s it turns green ("you can mark the end now ✅"), at 30s it pulses gold.
⬇ Mark end → the clip now loops automatically 🔁. During playback the counter shows your position: 12s / 30s, resetting to 0 every loop.
The transcript fills in for you. For library clips, the moment you Mark end, the app pulls the captions for exactly that segment into the “🎬 Clip transcript & notes” box, already stress-marked (CAPS = stressed parts). Tap “📄 Get transcript” to re-pull after changing your marks, or “✕ Clear” to start a fresh clip.
Navigate inside the clip with ⟲ (restart), ↺5 / 5↻ (jump 5s back/forward — clicks stack), the speed button (1× → .75× → .5×) and 🔁 loop on/off.
⭐ Save clip — saved clips reload with one tap, with your marks, transcript and recordings intact. A refresh also restores your last clip automatically.
🧍 Posture Coach — executive presence while you speak
Click "🧍 Posture coach" under the recorder (Shadow or any session page) and allow the camera.
Sit upright for 3 seconds — the coach calibrates to your upright posture.
Practice normally. A small glowing skeleton avatar (never your video) mirrors you: green = executive posture · yellow = head tilted, raise the phone · orange glow = slouching, shoulders back.
In a dark room, the screen automatically becomes a 💡 ring light to illuminate your face (one tap to turn off). If tracking can't see you, it pauses gracefully and lets you focus on voice.
Stop the coach to get your session result — e.g. "🧍 88% upright" — with advice.
🔒 Zero-capture privacy: camera frames are analyzed on your device and discarded instantly. No video or photo is ever stored or uploaded — only anonymous numeric posture coordinates exist, and they never leave your device.
Shadow and record
Shadow the loop 6–8×: listen → repeat in the gaps → speak with the audio → speak alone.
Check the 🎬 clip transcript. For library clips it's already filled from your marks and stress-marked; for a pasted video, type what the speaker says and tap “✨ Mark stress”. STRESSED parts appear in CAPS, pauses marked with /.
Press 🎙️ and shadow one full take. On stop: your words appear in 🎙️ My transcript, and the full speaking-feedback report is generated from that exact recording.
Repeat the clip — every take is an attempt: "This clip · attempt 3 — 80% → 95% → 100% 📈 you're improving!"
8🗣️ Speaking feedback explained
After every recording, the app builds a full report from what you actually said — it appears under the recorder the moment you stop.
The report: score, word chips, practice cards, pace/fillers, attempt history, grammar columns and vocabulary.
Section
What it tells you
Score %
How many of your target words were recognized clearly by the American-English speech engine
Word chips
Green = landed clearly · yellow = practice needed (hover to see what was heard instead)
🎯 Practice cards
For each problem word: 🔈 You (plays that moment from your own recording) · 🔊 Example · 🐢 Slow · 🎤 Say it — try again (turns green at 100% when you nail it)
Pace & fillers
Your words-per-minute vs the native 140–160 zone, and your "um/uh" count
Attempts
Score history for this clip/session with 📈/📉 verdicts
📖 Grammar feedback
Two columns — what you did well (modal verbs, present perfect, phrase-bank phrases used!) and what you can improve ("informations" → information, "I am agree" → I agree…), each with 🔊 hear-the-correct-version
📚 Key vocabulary
Words extracted from your speech with CEFR levels — see Section 8
💡 Speak 20+ seconds. The more you say, the richer the report. And remember it's an approximation: a "missed" word usually means unclear pronunciation, but background noise counts too.
9📚 Vocabulary, trouble words & quiz
Key vocabulary appears in every feedback report — words from your own speech with level badges (A2…C1). Tap a word for its dictionary definition, IPA and real human audio; use 🎤 Say it to test yourself; 🔖 save the good ones (or "Save all words").
⬆️ Level up your words: the app spots casual words you used and suggests the executive upgrade — you said "get" → try "obtain" — with audio and save buttons.
💪 Trouble words (Shadow → Trouble words tab): every word the feedback flags collects here automatically. Drill each with 🔊 / 🐢 / 🎤 — pronounce it correctly as many times as you missed it and it's cleared with a 🏆.
Flashcards, quizzes and crosswords: your saved words become a deck. The quiz reads you a word's meaning — you must say the word out loud; the app judges both recall and pronunciation.
The Library — your whole language collection
The 📚 Library tab (called Vocabulary & Grammar inside) gathers everything you collect, across five sections:
Section
What's in it
Vocabulary
Your saved words, split into Study · Review · Mastered
Grammar
Every rule your speaking coach checks, with the correct form
Grammar exercises
Seven drills — see below
Saved expressions
Phrases you wrote an example for or marked mastered
Business idioms
Every idiom in the programme, with the situation it fits
🟢 The green number on the Library icon is how many saved words are due to be practised right now. It appears once you start collecting words, drops as you practise them, and disappears when you're caught up. A word you get right comes back later, when spaced repetition brings it due again.
✏️ Grammar exercises
Seven categories of business-English drill: fill in the blanks · sentence correction · verb tenses · articles · prepositions · business grammar · weekly grammar review. Eight multiple-choice questions per run, and every answer shows the reason behind it — so you learn the rule, not just the answer. Your best score per category is kept.
📌 Example — the quiz
"What word is this? — The people with an interest or concern in a business project."
You press 🎤 and say "stakeholders" → "🏆 correct AND well pronounced!"
10Phrases & 💼 Executive Polish
Executive Polish at the top; the 152-phrase bank below, filtered by week.
💼 Executive Polish — say it like a leader
Type it, or tap the 🎤 mic and speak. The mic is yours to control: tap once to start, say a full sentence or a whole paragraph (it keeps listening through your pauses), then tap again to stop. Your professional versions appear straight away.
Pick from two boardroom-ready versions. Each one rephrases what you said in confident, professional English and notes the idiom or key phrase it uses — so you pick up new language, not just a single answer.
Not quite right? Press ✨ Polish it again for two fresh versions, as many times as you like — the words and idioms change each time.
🔊 Hear it, 🐢 slow it, 📋 copy it for the version you like. Then 🗑 Clear the box to start a new sentence.
📌 Example
"before starting our project I need us to verify all the requirements"
→ "Before we kick off the project, we need to sign off on all the requirements."
Executive Polish writes these versions with AI, so it needs an internet connection. Offline, it falls back to a quick clean-up (removing fillers and hedging and fixing obvious grammar).
Two tabs: phrases and idioms
The Phrase Lab separates Professional phrases (everyday sentence-starters) from Business idioms, so you can work on one kind at a time. The week chips (W1–W12) still filter within whichever tab you’re on.
The phrase bank
10–13 phrases and idioms per week, matched to the theme. For each: say it 5×, 🎙️ record your own sentence, and Mark mastered when it's naturally yours. Sunday's job: pick 5 to use in real meetings next week.
11Reviews & 📈 Progress Studio
Progress Studio on top; Week self-scores and written review below; month dashboards on weeks 4, 8, 12.
📖 Your story this week — an auto-written summary of your practice: days, words spoken, score trend, new vocabulary, trouble words to clear.
The four charts — 🎯 pronunciation score journey · 📚 vocabulary growth · ⚡ speaking-speed gauge (Warming up / Just right / Fast) · 🗓️ words spoken per day. All measured automatically.
Every Sunday: listen to 2 recordings, move the five 1–10 sliders (clarity, fluency, pronunciation, business naturalness, confidence), write 3 wins / 3 weaknesses / 3 corrections, and complete the review.
Weeks 4, 8, 12: fill the Month Dashboard — the big checkpoint that sets the next phase.
📅 Your Progress Calendar
On the 👤 Profile tab, a live calendar shows every day you actually practised — it fills in by itself whenever you record, master a phrase or complete a session, so there's nothing to check in.
This week: a weekly-goal counter, e.g. 4/6 days.
Month heat-map: each practised day glows brighter the more you did that day — tap any day to see its detail.
Year view: a contribution grid of the last 52 weeks, so a whole quarter is visible at a glance.
Streak stats: your current streak, best-ever streak and overall consistency %, with a short insight line.
12🛠️ Professional tracks — English for your trade
Everything above teaches general professional English. A professional track keeps the same 12-week engine and swaps the content for the job you actually do: your workshops, your vocabulary, the standards you are held to, and interviews with the people you would really meet.
Turn it on:👤 Profile → App Setup → Professional track, then choose Welding. Choose General English in the same place to switch back — nothing you have already done is lost either way.
Name your trade: in the Career Center under Your profession, pick Welder, Pipefitter or Boilermaker. This is not a label. It changes the scenario you are given, the vocabulary your answers are checked for, the model answers you are shown and the codes you are assessed against.
The chip in the header shows the track and trade you are currently being assessed as, on every screen. Tap it to open the Career Center from anywhere.
🌍 The Career Center
Your professional home. Open it from the header chip or from the row on the Dashboard.
Twelve interviewers. The one for your stage sits on top with its score; the rest fold underneath.
Career readiness — three figures: career readiness, interview readiness, and the number of spoken answers recorded. They are counted from answers you actually said and the app scored. Opening an activity never moves them.
Professional Interview Coaches — the interview for your current stage is shown first; the other eleven fold underneath.
Career Gap Analysis — your highest-value growth areas, taken from your Passport and history.
Resume & LinkedIn Coach — write a short professional summary and get concise rewrites back.
Destination interview guidance — what your chosen destination expects, its workplace culture, and the certification roadmap. Tap to unfold.
🎤 Interview coaches — and what the report tells you
Twelve interviewers, each rehearsing one part of your professional story: your introduction, a shift handover, a stop-work conversation, a quality report, permit and isolation, and so on. Choose any of them, in any order, as often as you like. You speak your answers out loud.
After an interview: what you covered, what you missed, the words that would have carried it — and a strong answer to hear and say back.
During: your talking points tick off as you cover them, and the interviewer steers towards the ones you have not.
After — Practice summary: how many talking points you covered, and which.
Your performance analysis opens the real report. It has two halves.
What your answer covered — measured against what a competent answer to that question contains. It names what you covered, what you missed, and the words that would have carried it. Then it shows a strong answer in full, with a button to hear it and say it back.
Word by word — every sentence you recorded, scored per word from your own audio, with the weak words collected so you can drill them in Practice.
Say enough to be assessed. A one-word answer is reported honestly as "not enough was said to assess this interview" — the app will not invent a score, or praise, from nothing.
The model answers show you how to say what you checked and what you found. They are language models, not trade instruction: they never tell you what to check, what to set, or whether work is safe to start. Those come from your procedure, your supervisor and your qualification.
👷 Professional Workplace Scenarios
Under 🎮 Practice, a full workplace conversation rather than a one-to-one interview. A team is in the room with you — Maya from HR, Daniel the supervisor, Luis on tools, Amelia on materials and quality, Priya on safety — and whoever is speaking appears at the top, so you always know who has the floor. Speak, and the person who answers is the one who would answer on a real site.
The workplace scenarios, each with its own subject — first day, handover, stop-work, permit and isolation.
🎫 Your Professional Skills Passport
On the 👤 Profile tab. It leads with evidence: workshops practised, answers recorded, and how many of them covered what a competent answer needs. The practice-activity bars below it are a fair record of effort — they are counts of what you have done, not a measure of your trade ability. Nothing on this page is evidence of certification or eligibility to work; those are proved by test certificates and the awarding body.
The Passport leads with evidence: workshops practised and answers that covered what was needed.
📶 It still works on a bad connection
If the network drops mid-interview, the interviewer does not stop. It works down its question list instead, and tells you once that it has done so. Your talking points still tick off from what you actually say. Everything else — the plan, the phrase bank, your recordings, the calendar — has always worked offline.
13👤 Account, backup & privacy
App Setup: your profile and reminder, sync, plan, and the Data & privacy tools.
Profile: edit your name, role, goal and daily slot anytime — the whole app re-personalizes.
Sync across your devices: optional and free. Create an account and your progress, streak, scores, vocabulary and reviews follow you from phone to laptop. Skip it and everything still works on this device.
Plan: the Free plan includes everything. Premium is coming later — deeper AI coaching, AI conversation practice, a pronunciation coach, and team dashboards.
Backup: click Export JSON weekly and keep the file safe; Import restores it on any device.
Privacy: progress, recordings and transcripts live on your device. Only if you sign in does your progress sync to your account — your recordings never leave the device either way.
⛔ "Reset everything" permanently erases all progress and recordings on this device. Export a backup first.
Daily reminder
In Settings you can switch on a daily reminder and pick the time. The notification tells you where you are on the road map and what is left — for example “You are at Stage 5 — Safety · 31 of 84 sessions (37%). Next: Stage 6”. On Android, expand it to see a small picture of the road with your position. Tapping it opens the map. If the app is closed it still arrives (Android and desktop Chrome); on other browsers the app tells you the next time you open it that the day's session is still waiting. It stays quiet once you've practised, and nudges at most once a day.
Nothing is deleted without asking
Every destructive action — deleting a recording or a saved clip, clearing a clip, importing progress, resetting, signing out — shows a confirmation first, naming exactly what is about to go. Cancel is the default, so a stray tap can’t lose your work.
After ten completed sessions with no account and no backup, the app will ask once whether you’d like to protect your progress. Browser storage really can disappear — clearing browsing data, or iOS reclaiming space from an app you haven’t opened in a while — so a backup or sync is worth having.
14🔗 Sharing, your certificate & telling others
At the bottom of 👤 Profile: your progress card, the invite card, and the certificate.
📊 Your progress card
Tap Create progress card and the app draws an image of where you have got to — week, sessions completed, streak. On a phone your normal share sheet opens, so it can go straight to WhatsApp, LinkedIn or a message; on a desktop the image downloads instead. The app’s address travels with it, so anyone who sees the card can find their way here. You need a few sessions behind you before the card unlocks — it should show something worth showing.
🏆 Your certificate
Finish all 84 sessions and the certificate unlocks on the same page, carrying your name and the date. Until then the card shows how many of the 84 you have done. There is a Share on LinkedIn button next to it: LinkedIn cannot accept an image from a link, so the file saves first and the post composer opens — attach the image you have just saved.
🔗 Bring someone with you
Share the app sends a plain invitation and the address, with no progress attached — the right thing for a colleague who is holding the same words back. Where the share sheet is unavailable the link is copied to your clipboard instead.
⭐ Rating the app
After seven completed sessions a card appears on your Dashboard asking for a Google Play rating. It is how the next person finds the app. Not now hides it for a month, and rating it once removes it for good — it will never nag you daily.
Nothing is shared automatically. No card, certificate or invitation ever leaves your device unless you tap the button yourself.

16FAQ & troubleshooting
The microphone / speaking feedback doesn't work
Use Chrome or Edge — speech recognition needs their engine (Safari partially works; Firefox doesn't). Click the 🔒 icon in the address bar → Microphone → Allow → reload. On macOS also check System Settings → Privacy → Microphone.
I refreshed and my clip/recordings seemed gone
Fixed — the Shadow tab now restores your last clip, marks, transcript and recordings automatically after a refresh. Recordings always survive refreshes; they live in your browser's database.
My progress disappeared
You probably opened a different browser or a private window. Return to your usual browser, or restore your JSON backup (👤 Account). This is why the weekly export habit matters.
My recording says 0:00 / can't be analyzed
It was too short. Speak for at least 20 seconds — feedback quality grows with every sentence you say. (Fresh recordings can display "0:00" until you press play — that's a browser quirk, not data loss.)
Can I install it as an app?
Yes — on Android Chrome: menu ⋮ → Add to Home Screen / Install app. It opens full-screen with the bottom navigation and works offline.
Does the Posture Coach record me?
No. The camera feed is analyzed frame-by-frame on your device and each frame is immediately discarded. No video or image is ever saved or transmitted — only anonymous posture coordinates (numbers) exist while the coach runs. Turning the coach off releases the camera completely.
Does my voice go to a server?
Recordings stay on your device. The speech engine used for transcription and dictation is your browser's own (Chrome may process audio on Google's servers as part of its speech service). Executive Polish sends only the text you typed or dictated to write its professional versions. Dictionary definitions are fetched anonymously. Your recordings never leave your device.
In what order should I do the weeks?
In order, 1 → 12. Phases build on each other, and weeks 4, 8, 12 end with month dashboards.
